Hollywoodbets Dolphins and Proteas spinner, Keshav Maharaj has dethroned India’s Mohammed Siraj as the number 1 ranked bowler in ICC rankings ahead of the 2023 Cricket World Cup Semi-finals.
In less than a week, Maharaj climbed the rank from the number 2 spot, straight to the top.
After Maharaj bagged the second spot, he went on to pick 7 wickets in 3 matches, which also included a four-for against New Zealand. He was one of the few bowlers who gave India a challenge, returning figures 1/30 when the hosts scored 326.
In the final group stage game, Maharaj managed to scrape 2 wickets against Afghanistan.

Siraj’s number 1 spot reign did not last long, however, it is not too far from Maharaj, with only 3 rating points separating the two.
Australia’s Adam Zampa is currently on the third spot followed by India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav on the 4th and 5th spot, respectively.
The Hollywoodbets Dolphins took to social media to congratulate one of their own, saying that they are incredibly proud of him and that he inspires them.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) also took to social media to congratulated Maharaj.
