Australia got it all wrong with the bat again as pacing woes prevented them from hauling in a modest total.

Bangladesh vs Australia | Fourth T20I | Saturday 7 August 2021 | The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka | 14:00

Bangladesh

Bangladesh havn’t fired on all cylinders in this series with the bat which makes it s surprise that they have clinched it with two matches to go.

The hosts have bowled very well, aided by an incredibly flakey and disrupted top-order fielded by Australia.

Mustafizur Rahman was brilliant again in the third match despite not claiming a wicket, as he conceded just 9 runs off the four overs he sent down.

Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan have just about held the top order together, at the very least outperforming their opposite numbers if not setting the world alight at the crease.

Australia

While Australia can celebrate an international hat-trick on debut for Nathan Ellis their batting failings have cast a shadow over this tour.

Australia haven’t looked like a team that could put 140 on the board once, and they haven’t even been asked to score as many in the series to date.

Mitchell Marsh is now coming in for criticism after top-scoring again, but being unable to inject enough impetus into the effort to get Australia into the fight.

There are stars missing, but their performance is an indictment of the depth of Australian cricket in a format that is arguably over-exposed.

Verdict: Bangladesh

The Tigers should keep on rolling.
