Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj finished with figures of 7-40 in 12 overs, his second consecutive innings he has taken seven wickets, while fellow slow-bowler Simon Harmer took 3-34 in 11.3 overs as Bangaldesh were bowled out for just 80 in the second innings, chasing an improbable target of 413.

The victory means the Proteas wrap up a 2-0 clean-sweep of the Test series after the visitors had won the preceding three-match ODI series 2-1.

The tourists came into the fourth day with the score on 27-3 and would have at least wanted to show some pride and fight.

It never materialised however as they Tigers’ batters folded meekly as if they had just wanted to get on a plane and return home.

Maharaj had Mushfiqur Rahim and visiting captain Mominul Haque out early in day before Harmer dismissed Yasir Ali for a duck.

Litton Das manage to get 27 but was then stumped by wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne to give Maharah his fifth wicket of the innings as Bangladesh slumped to 69-7.

Maharaj then picked up two wickets in his 12th over as he dismissed Mehidy Hasan Miraz (20) and Khaled Ahmed before Harmer finished the game getting rid of Taijul Islam.

The 32-year-old Maharaj was named man-of-the match and player of the series after striking an important 84 with the bat in the Proteas first inning total of 453 in the second Test to go with his figures of 7-32 in the first Test at Kingsmead.
