The Netherlands and Scotland are in the middle of the Super Six sandwich bringing two points each into the phase thanks to respective victories over the West Indies and Oman, who start the phase pinned to the bottom of the log.

This tournament does not feature a semi-final stage, so the top two teams will progress to the final and the ICC Cricket World Cup after the three rounds of three Super Six matches.

Zimbabwe | Tie | Oman

Odds TBA*

Zimbabwe’s squad might already feel their nerves jangling with qualification for the World Cup within their grasp.

The hosts are likely to be able to secure that spot even if they are unable to beat the only Test-playing nation they will face in the Super Sixes in Sri Lanka.

To ensure they reach the promised land of the Cricket World Cup Zimbabwe need to avoid slip-ups against dangerous dark horses in Oman and Scotland.

Zimbabwe should have a big edge over Oman given the wickets in the country play in a fashion that is markedly different from surfaces anywhere else in the world.

Verdict: Zimbabwe

Sri Lanka | Tie | Netherlands

Sri Lanka should be commended for their professionalism in this tournament so far which has seen them maintain a perfect record.

Granted Sri Lanka would have expected to beat all these teams and they will still be reeling from the humiliation of having to turn out in this tournament.

That chip on their shoulders should ensure that Sri Lanka avoid a costly late slip-up and maintain their long run of Cricket World Cup appearances.

The Netherlands have already claimed a Test scalp in this tournament though and will have plans to undo Sri Lanka.

Verdict: Sri Lanka

Scotland | Tie | West Indies

Scotland also have a win over Test playing opposition although Ireland aren’t quite on the level of the West Indies.

The West Indies are a stark contrast to Sri Lanka in this tournament suffering successive losses after they had clinched progression to the Super Six phase.

The West Indies are still capable of blowing any team in this tournament away if they fire.

However, Scotland will sense they are ripe for another upset with the West Indies one defeat away from missing the World Cup for the first time.

Verdict: Scotland
