South Africa begin their build towards next season’s T20 World Cup while India continue their work towards that event off the back of a series win over Australia.

This will be the first time that South Africa has hosted India in a T20I at Kingsmead in Durban.

To Win Match
South Africa 23/20 | Tie 25/1 | India 72/100

South Africa are out to transition young batters into the lineup in particular, and Matthew Breetzke and Donovan Ferreira are likely to get their chances to shine.

The Proteas have middle-order kingpins David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen to fall back on, but a lack of explosive options up top could be a concern.

Aiden Markram leads the side in the absence of Temba Bavuma, who has been rested for both the T20I and ODI series.

Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee will only be available for the first and second T20Is.

India will take their lead from Suryakumar Yadav who could be a long-term skipper option for the country over multiple formats.

Yadav may have a fairly young team on his hands but he can still call on a number of in-form players including a recent T20 centurion.

Ruturaj Gaikwad slammed plenty of runs against Australia and could just be the big dangerman for the team in blue. Shreyas Iyer now has the air of a man established in the national side and his recent performances prove that.

Another of their dangermen will be left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja who looks likely to really enjoy the slow wicket at Kingsmead.

Verdict: India 72/100

India are bringing a lot of firepower to South Africa and will want to hit the ground running at Kingsmead.
