The series has been levelled to set up up decider in Barbados on Sunday after the Black Caps mounted a fightback. New Zealand now have the momentum but after a stop-start affair on Friday that might not count for much.

To Win Match
West Indies 39/20 | Tie 25/1 | New Zealand 42/100

West Indies

West Indies fell flat in a modest chase after winning the first match chasing down a similar total with ease.

It can’t all be pegged on complacency but the Windies did let their standards slip in the second ODI.

Promising allrounder Yannic Cariah provided a taste of his talents with a counterattacking half-century that made a game of things.

Meanwhile, Alzarri Joseph also showed that he can spend some time at the crease above his bowling talents.

New Zealand

Finn Allen was the clear standout for New Zealand on a track that proved challenging to bat on and the surface is unlikely to get better on Sunday.

The weather might be the determining factor when it comes to exactly how it plays, but New Zealand appear to have a good handle on the Kensington Oval surface.

New Zealand made great use of the new ball to put the West Indies back on their heels and that battle might prove pivotal again.

Tim Southee and Trent Boult’s experience makes them a pairing any team would love to have at their disposal.

Verdict: New Zealand 42/100

New Zealand should take the series now.
