Maharaj masterclass gives Dolphins finals sniff

After a solid counter-attack from the Dafabet Warriors on day three of their 4-Day Domestic Series clash at St George’s Park, a Keshav Maharaj six-for sees the Hollywoodbets Dolphins needing 104 runs to win on day four.

The home side started day three on 88 without loss and carried on where they closed on Wednesday with Eddie Moore and Gihahn Cloete eating into the deficit. 

The two put on 145 for the first wicket before Cloete was bowled by Ruan de Swardt for 65. 

The Warriors then saw Moore and captain Yaseen Vallie combine for another important partnership worth 100 and the Warriors had wiped off the deficit. 

Vallie became Maharaj’s first victim for 45 and the Daryn Dupavillon picked up Rudi Second 20 runs later. 

The Dolphins then took control as they took seven Warriors wickets for just 80 runs with Maharaj taking five of the seven wickets to fall. 

Eddie Moore was eventually dismissed by Kerwin Mungroo for 155 the Warriors lost their last six wickets for 34 runs. 

Maharaj ended the innings with his fourth five-wicket haul of the competition as he took six for 93. 

The Warriors finished on 345 all out setting the Dolphins 112 to win the match. 

At stumps, the visitors were eight without loss needing 104 runs to win.
