REPORT: Rain spoils Dolphins party in Cape Town

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins’ charge towards an opening round victory in the CSA 4-Day Domestic Series was dashed after rain washed out the fourth and final day leading to a draw against Six Gun Grill Western Province.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins’ charge towards an opening round victory in the CSA 4-Day Domestic Series was dashed after rain washed out the fourth and final day leading to a draw against Six Gun Grill Western Province.

The visiting Dolphins were in the pound seats going into the final day with Western Province 186 for seven overnight and still needing 34 runs to make the Dolphins bat again.

In the Province second innings Dolphins seamer Daryn Dupavillon was chief destroyer with four for 33 heading into the final day while there were also wickets for Bryce Parsons and Thando Ntini.

Debutant Parsons registered his first first-class five wicket haul in the first innings when he took five for 82.

The teams were able to get some play in in the afternoon however it was only a handful of overs before the rain returned to have the final say in the contest.

The Dolphins now shift their focus to the Momentum Multiply Titans starting on Friday.
