Starlet and philanthropist, Nomzamo Mbatha, and award-winning broadcaster, Carol Tshabalala are joining forces this Women’s month.
The #EmpoweringHER campaign, powered by Hollywoodbets, will bring these two powerful women together with an exciting project that will focus on investing R1.5 million into developing female- owned businesses. The campaign hopes to add light and inspiration to these businesses on their path to success.
This project will also include a webinar with Mbatha and Tshabalala hosting female entrepreneurs, with an exclusive business mentorship, motivation and guidance.
“Historically women have always been disadvantaged in various ways and constantly have to pull tooth and nail to achieve access, funding and support. To empower is not only to seed, but also to elevate. In all my philanthropic efforts, the aim is to always provide sustainable solutions. Through this incredible initiative with Hollywoodbets, I’m grateful that we can support female led businesses with the extra financial and wholistic support. We cannot celebrate Women’s Month with a mere hashtag, we have to walk the walk. Hollywoodbets does that. It is equally wonderful to be working on this with an inspiring icon such as Carol. I cannot wait to receive all the compelling entries we anticipate, as we embark on this journey!”, said Mbatha.
Hollywoodbets has a strong focus on the development and growth of women in sports. In 2020, the company took on the role of Presenting Sponsors for the COSAFA Women’s Championship, title sponsors of the Janine van Wyk football club and then went on to become the naming rights sponsors of South Africa’s premier women’s football league in May 2021, now known as the Hollywoodbets Super League. Through the #EmpoweringHER campaign, Hollywoodbets hopes to extend their sentiment to even more women in business and offer them support on their journey.
