Calls for better quality football, inclusion of more players in the squad as well as stronger opponents were the calls from Bafana Bafana supporters after the game against Eswatini.
Bafana’s performance against the minnows at an almost empty FNB Stadium left many question marks ahead of the start of the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers next month and the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) finals in Ivory Coast in January and February.

Bafana coach Hugo Broos did not hide his disappointment about his players’ shocking performance:
“I couldn’t believe my eyes, really. So, If we know the real reason why it was, then it should be easy, but we will see in the next days with my staff, together with players what we can do with a performance like that.”
Jabulani Gwebu – Eswatini
“You guys (South fricans) thought it would just be a walk over, but we also came here prepared to destroy you. Bafana were lucky because that chance we got towards the end of the game was a clear chance and should have been a goal. And if Bafana continue to play like that. They’ll be in trouble I tell you!”
Dyrick Foster – South Africa
“The performance was very poor. But for me I only came to watch Lyle Foster but they never passed the ball to him. He and Njabulo (Blom) will help bafana lift silverware next year. They were not supposed to sub in the Ox, because then we would’ve lost the game.”
