With the final field announced and betting available, the Dean Kannemeyer-trained colt GREEN WITH ENVY tops the betting boards at 18/10 This after recently winning the Grade 3 Politician Stakes on Met Day 2024.
HLUHLUWE, who ran 10th in the L’Ormarins King’s Plate at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth at the start of the year is second-favourite at 28/10. He will be piloted by Met-winning, Hollywoodbets-sponsored jockey Dan Muscutt.

Winning Form Preview
GREEN WITH ENVY ran on from last when winning the Grade 3 Schweppes Politician Stakes last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will be at home over this distance. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and is the horse to beat.
BEACH BOMB is better than her last start in the Grade 1 City Of Cape Town Majorca Stakes. She won a good race in the Grade 1 Cartier Paddock Stakes in her penultimate run. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber should have no issues with the rise to 2000m and she should give the males a run for their money.
RAPIDASH was given a peach of a ride when winning the Non-Black Type Cape Racing Gold Rush last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will be suited to 2000m. He is the stable elect with Grant van Niekerk in the saddle and merits healthy respect.
HLUHLUWE is better than his last start in the Grade 1 L’Ormarins King’s Plate. On his previous form, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
