Race 5

Two 5yr old mares and a 4yr old filly could dominate the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but LIPSTICK LIL is given the nod to lead the field home. She has won two of her last three starts, the latest over six furlongs by a neck. She finished strongly that day and from a wide draw thirteen, she is likely to be dropped out of it in the early part of the race and then start to pick off the frontrunners over the closing stages.

HELLO SUNSHINE had her consistency rewarded with a 2.2L victory last time out over six furlongs. She struck the front at the 250M mark that day to win going away. From her kinder draw eight, she could emerge as the biggest threat to the top choice.

CHOMEUR won over seven furlongs three runs back and has then finished second and third in her next two outings, the latest over 1300M, just over a length and a half behind the winner and was immediately rested for 21 weeks. She returns here after having had two barrier trials, finishing third in the latest. She gets a handy gate three and should be included in all bets.

Race 6

With the late scratching of one of her main rivals, the door may have opened for today’s value bet, DENACE to chalk up her fifth career victory. She is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she has consistent form lines to her name and although recorded as finishing fourth last time out over five furlongs, she was just 1.8L back from the winner. She came three-wide into the home straight in that contest but stayed on well over the latter stages and the form of that race has been franked. She gets a cosy gate two and should give the males a good run for their money.

FOXSTORM has finished second in four of his last five runs, the latest over 1100M, just over a length behind the winner and the form of that race has worked out well with three runners out of that contest subsequently winning. The gelding shifted out over the closing stages, but the objection laid against him for that movement was overruled. From gate six, he should make his presence felt here.

WITNESS COLLECTOR showed plenty of toe and battled all the way down to the wire when showing marked improvement to win his last start over five furlongs by a head. He gets a wideish gate eight, but on the plus side will have 1.5kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

Race 7

NOTABADIDEA has finished closer to the winner in each of his last three runs, the latest when sixth over this mile journey, two and a half lengths adrift of the victor and the form of that race has been franked. He tried to go from jump to wire that day and was only run out of it late. From draw seven, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

MO’S GLORY is a 6yr old mare taking on males, but she overraced in the early stages before ending up in fifth place last time out over a mile, four lengths off the winner. If settling in her race today and from gate four, she should not be overlooked in this line-up. LARYNX’S last four runs have produced two wins and two second-place finishes, the latest over seven furlongs when beaten a short-head in the shadow of the post. A known front-runner, he should be able to move across from his wide draw thirteen without consuming too much gas.

Race 8

The day’s best bet, BOMBDIGGITY has won two of his last three outings since returning from a 26-week absence, the latest over five furlongs by just under half a length. He skipped clear of the field at the top of the home stretch that day and then held on doggedly. He faces a wide draw eleven out of fourteen, but will have 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice and could prove difficult to topple.

PRIMAL SCREAM is drawn one inside the top choice and missed out on his hat-trick when finishing ninth last time out over 900M, just under four lengths back from the winner, but he only saw daylight at the 350M mark that day and then hung out when finally thought the gap. With better luck in running here, he could emerge as the biggest danger to the top pick.

TELLS TAILS is a 5yr old mare taking on boys, but she finished strongly to win her last start over six furlongs by 0.7L and from her cosy draw three and having the services of a 2kg claiming apprentice, she should be involved in the finish.
