AFRICAN RAIN was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over this C&D. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. The son of Soft Falling Rain has class about him and should notch up his fifth career victory.
Race 4: BEREAVE (3)
Jockey: C Zackey – Trainer: A Marcus
BEREAVE ran a cracker when finishing second in the Grade 2 Cape Merchants last time. He lost a length at the start, but finished his race off strongly. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He should have no issues with the slight drop in distance and if jumping on terms, he should be the one to beat.

HOEDSPRUIT is the best bet on the programme. He was an impressive winner in the Listed Algoa Cup over 2000m at Fairview. He lost a length at the start that day, but quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. The classy son of Legislate is in a good space and should complete the hat-trick.
