BRIGHTON

Race 7 No11 DEW YOU BELIEVE (Each Way)
Trainer: Ed Dunlop – Jockey: Nicola Currie

DEW YOU BELIEVE showed the first hint that he might be ready for delivery when beaten only a length and a half into fourth on handicap debut at Wolverhampton. He should appreciate this move onto grass in what looks a weak contest.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 2 No9 KING OF CLUBS (Nap)
Trainer: Hughie Morrison – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Intello colt KING OF CLUBS improved for a move onto turf when beaten a short head in a big field of novices at this course and looks a winner waiting to happen. His wily trainer will have handicaps in mind, but can first and foremost get him off the mark in this.

Race 5 No9 WARRANTY
Trainer: Harry Whittington – Jockey: PJ McDonald

WARRANTY failed to cut much ice over hurdles which is why Whittington is running him on the Flat. The four-year-old reacted favourably to a first-time visor when chasing home Wemyss Point at Pontefract. Having been given a month’s gap he is in the mood to go one better and can serve connections well through the summer.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 5 No9 STREET POET
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Oisin McSweeney

Course specialist STREET POET has a perfect draw for one that likes to be up there, while he getting assistance from the 7lb claim of his apprentice rider. He had his winning sequence broken at Chelmsford last time but should be more in his comfort zone returned here.

Race 7 No13 LITTLE GEM (Nap)
Trainer: Charlie Fellowes – Jockey: Aled Beech

Receiving weight from all 12 of her foes, Southwell scorer LITTLE GEM can cash in on the first visit to Dunstall Park. She looked to have a bit up her sleeve when coming home unchallenged at Southwell and can build on that first career triumph.

HUNTINGDON

Race 2 No4 TREATY OF DINGLE (Each Way)
Trainer: Sean Curran – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan

TREATY OF DINGLE posted frame finishes in each of the three starts that earned her a handicap mark. She’s been in good form on the all-weather of late, placing at Wolverhampton and Lingfield, and can add to the good record of her trainer’s jumps team with a win here.

Race 4 No2 KLOUD GATE (Nap)
Trainer: Gary Moore – Jockey: Jamie Moore

KLOUD GATE raised his game with the assistance of a first-time visor to score over course and distance earlier in the month. He delivered as a 14-1 roughie but will probably head the market – and rightly so – as he bids to go back-to-back.

Race 6 No2 GOOD BOY BOBBY
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Daryl Jacob

Hat-trick seeking Coeur Serein commands respect but might have to give best to GOOD BOY BOBBY, who following a string of earning efforts can deservedly get his head in front. The selection has run into a couple of well-treated horses in Ashington at Sedgefield and Kakamora at Perth, but it’s unlikely there’s anything of that ilk amongst the opposition.

HEXHAM

Race 2 No2 TRESHNISH
Trainer: Sue Smith – Jockey: Ryan Mania

On a recovery mission after blotting his copybook at an early fence when heavily supported here last time, TRESHNISH can regain the winning thread. The normally ultra-safe jumper demonstrated a liking for these undulations with a gritty success on previous start and can bounce back.

Race 4 No9 LAWTOP LEGEND (Nap)
Trainer: Dr Richard Newland – Jockey: Sam Twiston- Davies

The best bet on the card is LAWTOP LEGEND, courtesy of a narrow Plumpton success in first-time blinkers. Key to that was how he pounced so late that he didn’t win by far, making it difficult for the assessor to know how much he actually had up his sleeve.

Race 6 No6 OISHIN (Each Way)
Trainer: Maurice Barnes – Jockey: Thomas Dowson

Barnes complicates the issue by fielding Farlam King as well as OISHIN in this novices’ handicap hurdle. However, Oishin makes greater appeal returned to the smaller obstacles after a disastrous first foray over fences. He’s gone well over a year since his last win, but is worth chancing as he will be a nice double-figure price.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 1-7)

3, 9 x 2, 3 x 6, 8 x 9, 2 x 5, 1 x 6, 10, 2 x 1, 9, 7
