BRIGHTON

Race 4 No4 ISCHIA (Nap)
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt

Equiano filly ISCHIA finds herself in calmer waters than when taking home a cheque in handicap company at Windsor. It’s important for a well related individual like her to experience the winning habit, and her trainer appears to have found an ideal opportunity for her.

Race 5 No6 HIDDEN PEARL
Trainer: John Berry – Jockey: Harry Davies

With figures of 2212 HIDDEN PEARL is a mare enjoying her racing. She wasn’t able to cope with Temur Khan over this course and distance last time, but at the revised weights holds a good chance of turning the tables on that rival.

Race 7 No5 DE VEGAS KID (Each Way)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Ray Dawson

Granted his fine record at the track and good effort to place in the Mile Challenge at this month’s Festival here, DE VEGAS KID is worth backing to bolster his Brighton CV. The veteran has run here on nine of his last 11 outings on turf, knows every blade of grass and can put his best foot forward to pick up the leaders up the final hill.

CHEPSTOW

Race 5 No5 MR PC (Nap)
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: William Cox

MR PC has attracted market support on several occasions since scoring a first success for his trainer at Wolverhampton in March. He’s gone close more than once, but his followers will look to recoup losses in a race where he looks primed for another big earning run.

Race 6 No4 PENGUIN ISLAND
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Dane O’Neill

It’s good to see the old form of Candy and O’Neill joining forces and their candidate here PENGUIN ISLAND might have a better chance than it’s form figures indicate. The home bred daughter of The Gurkha has only limited experience on grass which lends itself to her raising her game noe back at a sprint distance.

SOUTHWELL

Race 1 No3 LIBERTUS
Trainer: James Fanshawe – Jockey: Benoit De La Sayette

LIBERTUS underwhelmed at Newbury but looked happier when last seen beaten in a photo at Lingfield. With strong assistance from the talented apprentice on his back he holds leading claims to prevail in this maiden handicap.

Race 4 No4 THRAVE
Trainer: Mick Appleby – Jockey: Jonathan Fisher

THRAVE has gone 13 runs since his last win, but following earning efforts at Doncaster and Leicester could find the cards dropping right returned to the all-weather. He will as usual be ridden for luck, and if finding racing real estate in the closing stages can take home another cheque.

Race 5 No7 ALL GO (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Although she’s squandered a few chances, ALL GO gets a handy weight allowance from previous scorer Finbar’s Lad and Red Astaire. In fact this is one of the few races she’s run in that a win looks likelier than a place, and she will be hard to beat.

Race 6 No3 THAAYER (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Tom Eaves

THAAYER last won 18 months ago but there are signs since he underwent a wind operation that he’s on the cusp of returning to his best. Both those earnings runs at Newcastle suggest he is back on a fair mark, and he can take home another cheque.

STRATFORD

Race 7 No1 THE GALAHAD KID (Nap)
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Jack Hogan

THE GALAHAD KID made it three on the bounce at Newton Abbot and that form has been boosted by the horse that finished third. He’s out under a penalty but as that is annulled by Hogan’s 7lb claim he can make it another winner for the bouyant O’Brien stable.

Place Accumulater Perm (Races 1-7)
