PLUMPTON

Race 1 No2 DAVID’S WELL (Nap)
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Rex Dingle

DAVID’S WELL hails from a local stable running into form after a slow start to the campaign. He put in a career-best when fifth to Making Headway in a similar contest at Newbury, a run that has teed him up perfectly for this weaker challenge.

Race 4 No3 WEAVERS ANSWER
Trainer: Tim Vaughan – Jockey: Alan Johns

WEAVERS ANSWER has shown an affinity for running well on return from a break, winning on his seasonal return at Uttoxeter. It’s three months since his latest effort to take away a minor cheque at Lingfield, when he gave every indication that a further step up in trip would benefit him. This first attempt at three miles should see the grey in his element.

Race 5 No5 ROBINS FIELD
Trainer: Harriet Dickin – Jockey: Benjamin Poste

ROBINS FIELD has upped his game since returning from a breathing operation, finishing second at Sedgefield and Wetherby. His trainer now adds cheekpieces, which could provide the assist needed for the gelding to put his head in front.

AYR

Race 3 No1 TRAPRAIN LAW
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Patrick Wadge

TRAPRAIN LAW has posted four successes from ten starts since joining his trainer from France. The grey opened his chasing account in good style at Kelso, and though posting only a midfield finish at Doncaster last time, ran better than the bare form indicates. He has scope for further progression and can bounce back.

Race 4 No7 EIRE STREET (Nap)
Trainer: Mrs Jackie Stephen – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

EIRE STREET came out of the wilderness to score unchallenged at Carlisle last week. Connections are keen to strike while the iron’s hot with the well-bred seven-year-old, who can defy a 7lb penalty.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No6 SIOBHANBROGAN (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

SIOBHANBROGAN is entitled to improve from her satisfactory comeback run at Chelmsford and looks the answer to this fillies’ novice with Murphy an eye-taking booking. It was her first run for six months and should have put the cutting edge on her sufficiently to stave off the challenge of Colour Code.

Race 6 No2 DARLO PRIDE (Each Way)
Trainer: Anthony Carson – Jockey: William Carson

DARLO PRIDE is well drawn for this sprint round a bend. He’s the winner of four of his last nine starts in a sequence that also includes four seconds, and hasn’t been out of the frame in his last 13 outings. He posted a first Wolverhampton victory in snug fashion last time, and holds strong claims to follow-up, though I shall have a saver on CATCH CUNNINGHAM, who can show the benefit of a change of stables and should also be involved.
