HUNTINGDON
Race 2 No5 FORTUNATE FRED
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
FORTUNATE FRED is a 14-race maiden but there’s been nothing wrong with his four earning runs since being switched back to hurdles. Sheehan has partnered him in his last ten outings and the combination find themselves in a race that is within their compass.
Race 3 No3 DOC McCOY
Trainer: Jamie Snowden – Jockey: Gavin Sheehan
The same trainer/jockey combo can strike with DOC McCOY. Although returning from his seasonal break, that also applies to market rival Billy Bob Blue and the selection has the better bumper form. Furthermore he’s jumped well at home in preparation for this.
Race 6 No1 GENERAL MEDRANO (Nap)
Trainer: Emma Lavelle – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy
GENERAL MEDRANO was far too good for Rose Sea Has on his debut over fences at Uttoxeter. He justified strong market support by pulling clear on the run-in and though carrying a welter burden can show with a follow-up success over In The Air that he was value for it.
NEWCASTLE
Race 3 No1 CHESHIRE DANCER (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: Oisin Murphy
CHESHIRE DANCER showed she handles the Tapeta surface when going down in a tight finish at Wolverhampton last month. A winner at Beverley and third on her debut, she has plenty of ability and is suited by the conditions of this restricted novice in which the step up to a mile should prove beneficial.
Race 4 No6 ARIZONA DESERT
Trainer: Dominic Ffrench Davis – Jockey: Owen Lewis
Sioux Nation filly ARIZONA DESERT opened her account in taking fashion at Leicester where she was good value for her neck margin of victory. She’s thriving for her trainer, and following that confidence boost can back it up.
Race 5 No1 CURIOUS ROVER
Trainer: Katie Scott – Jockey: William Pyle
CURIOUS ROVER is a credit to his connections and needs respecting on this third nursery assignment. He was an impressive scorer at Haydock and put in another solid effort to chase home Irish Nectar at York. He’s shown he can mix it in this division, while his chance is enhanced by the 3lb claim of his apprentice pilot.
Race 8 No4 BLAZING HOT (Each Way)
Trainer: Michael Herrington – Jockey: Tom Eaves
BLAZING HOT has been around the block trainer-wise but on just a second outing for Herrington appeals as a solid win and place bet in this low grade sprint handicap. He failed by the skin of his teeth to prevail on a first run out of the yard, and from a potentially good draw can go one better.
