WARWICK

Race 2 No6 KING OF TARA
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr

While I’m normally reluctant to side with a horse that has no previous experience over jumps, KING OF TARA can prove an exception to that rule. He brings solid bumper form to the table and will have been well-tutored for this switch of codes.

Race 3 No2 PETTY CASH (Each Way)
Trainer: Henry Daly – Jockey: Alice Stevens

On his first outing in exactly a year, PETTY CASH could be worth chancing on this return to hurdling. While his first two starts over fences resulted in falls, he had previously landed handicap hurdles at Ffos Las and Huntingdon, and could have more to offer.

Race 6 No5 ASTRONOMIC VIEW (Nap)
Trainer: Sue Gardner – Jockey: Lucy Gardner

ASTRONOMIC VIEW is one that jumps off the page with seemingly everything going for him in this long-distance handicap hurdle. While perhaps lacking a turn of foot, he travels and jumps and will enjoy this track and the underfoot conditions. He ran a cracker when third in a good race at Ascot, and if bringing that form to the table can definitely win.

Race 7 No11 CHIEF SUNDAY (Each Way)
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

CHIEF SUNDAY may not have the benefit of previous experience, but he’s shown ability for a trainer that can get one ready for a race of this nature. This beautifully bred individual can present problems for Valgrand and Les’s Destiny Star.

KELSO

Race 2 No1 NELLS SON (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Richards – Jockey: Danny McMenamin

This appears an ideal opportunity for NELLS SON to put his best foot forward. The nine-year-old has to give the best part of a stone to his main rival Go Boy, but accepting this is a drop in class for him he can achieve it. The other two runners are out of the handicap, and may struggle.

Race 4 No9 VELASCO
Trainer: Sue Corbett – Jockey: Nathan Moscrop

VELASCO served it up from the front when’s owing at Doncaster last week, and now has his sights set on this better race in which he competes under a 7lb penalty. In current form he has a good chance to seal a fine hat-trick, and can do so at the expense of Imperial Merlin.

Race 5 No5 MYRETOWN
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Derek Fox

Many fingers were burned when MYRETOWN when he exited at Ayr’s final flight when holding a chance of victory. He’s up against a well regarded product of the point-to-point world in Winchmore Hill, but should know too much for that rival.

SOUTHWELL

Race 2 No2 BRAVE ZULU
Trainer: Daniel Kubler – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

BRAVE ZULU achieved much when opening his account and beating a subsequent winner at Kempton. Returning from his winter break the National Defense colt can repel the challenges of two other previous winners in the field, African Sprit and Serengeti Sunrise.

Race 4 No7 SIXTIES CHIC (Nap)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: David Probert

SIXTIES CHIC competes at a higher level than ever before, but deserves a shot at better after her win at Wolverhampton and near miss at Chelmsford. This turning 1200 metres is optimum for the daughter of Sixties Icon, who looked in good order on her final breeze on the West Ilsley all-weather.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 2-8)
