LINGFIELD PARK

Race 3 No9 EURKASH (Each Way)
Trainer: Paul Webber – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

Delgany Monarch needs a market check as he regularly attracted support last season and has potential for progression as a chaser. He goes into all perms, but at longer odds EURKASH can also earn. The selection can serve it up from the front and with a new pilot engaged could make this a first success in almost three years.

Race 4 No4 TOTTERDOWN (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Phillips- Jockey: Corey McGivern

Forcing tactics benefitted TOTTERDOWN when he made a winning reappearance at Leicester last November. It was the third year running that the gelding had delivered first time back, and I shall back him to stage a repeat performance with McGivern taking a valuable 7 lb off his burden.

Race 5 No11 PILSDON PEN (Each Way)
Trainer: Jeremy Scott – Jockey: Rex Dingle

This is a very competitive handicap chase in which the ultra consistent PILSDON PEN makes abundant appeal. Winner of three handicap hurdles and placed in all other six of his last nine starts, the strong traveller is having a first outing since a wind operation, and is ready for the task as his attention is turned to fences.

NEWCASTLE

Race 3 No11 NIGHT AT SEA (Nap)
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

Balding has had a couple of reverses including Leadman at odds-on yesterday, but NIGHT AT SEA can set the record straight in this stayers’ maiden. The daughter of Sea The Stars has progressed from race to race in three starts on turf. Second at Catterick last time, she’s trained well on an all-weather surface at home.

Race 5 No12 STAINCLIFF
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop

It’s likely that the winner of this fillies’ maiden will possess previous experience which leads me to STAINCLIFF. The selection belied her 25-1 odds to chase home the more experienced Cover Point at Sandown, and although having to skip a subsequent engagement is ready for this switch to the all- weather.

CHELMSFORD CITY

Race 1 No2 UPPER HAND (Nap)
Trainer: John Butler – Jockey: Darragh Keenan

UPPER HAND had been beaten a Country mile in each of his three outings before having his attention switched to handicaps. That brought about a pronounced improvement from the Camacho colt who should make no mistake this time.

Race 3 No1 NEAPOLITAN
Trainer: Simon Crisford – Jockey: Ross Coakley

NEAPOLITAN made great strides to open his account on second start at Kempton and is going to enjoy stretching out to seven furlongs under a penalty. He should have plenty more to give, and can stave off the challenge of another promising candidate in Louis Quatorze.

Race 8 No2 BOLD RIBB
Trainer: John Ryan – Jockey: Neil Callan

BOLD RIBB has served his connections well with successes in his first and latest of four starts this season. He was a shrewd purchase out of Joseph O’Brien’s powerful stable, has a good draw from which his rider can be positive and can add to his laurels.
