BRIGHTON

Race 1 No2 TRAIS FLUORS ( Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Rose Dawes

Former Group winner in France TRAIS FLUORS seemed to lose his way in a blank 2022 and is now a nine-year-old. It’s the first time he’s been ridden by the capable Dawes, and now in a Class 5 for the first time is worth a speculative each-way investment.

Race 3 No3 JUNOESQUE (Nap)
Trainer: John Gallagher – Jockey: Darragh Keenan

JUNOESQUE is a standing dish here whose bold front-running tactics have served him admirably over the years. He was the last off the bridle when finishing fifth here on seasonal reappearance last week, and will be straighter for it.

Race 4 No1 CRYSTAL ESTRELLA
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Rhys Clutterbuck

Stoute is a rare visitor to this course which makes the presence under top weight of CRYSTAL ESTRELLA more interesting. The selection failed to menace in his only outing and on handicap debut last season but makes only a fifth visit to a racecourse today and could have more to offer, especially as the stable has made a bright start to the campaign.

YARMOUTH

Race 3 No11 WILD SIDE ( Nap)
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

WILD SIDE should be fit for this fillies’ maiden after a fine earning run at Pontefract last month. With a top pilot booked the daughter of Kodiac should avenge that paper thing defeat by Tellus.

NOTTINGHAM

Race 3 No7 ZARGA
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

Camelot filly ZARGA was well thought of last year when earning on two of the three starts she engaged in to secure her a handicap mark. She’s up against a few last-time-out winners and hasn’t run since September, but it wouldn’t surprise me if there was interest in her in the market.

Race 5 No3 CRYSTAL CAPRICE (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

CRYSTAL CAPRICE was not near her best when underwhelming on her only all-weather start last autumn. Apart from that she was unlucky not to run up a four-race sequence, taking out a Class 2 at Ascot with the minimum of fuss but then giving best to Zanbaq in the closing stages of a Listed race at Newmarket. She’s worked well ahead of this reappearance in the Nottinghamshire Oaks, and needs to be taken seriously.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 3 No7 PEONY (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Ross Coakley

PEONY contested strong races on both her juvenile outings last year before making a pleasing return to the track on Polytrack. Second to Alpha Zulu in that Kempton contest, she looks the go-to filly in this sprint and can open her account.

Race 5 No3 SANT COLETTE
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: Trevor Whelan

SAINTE COLETTE is a well-related filly who was too immature to do herself justice last season. She’s a stronger individual now, and with the addition of cheek pieces can get into the shake-up in this stayers’ race.
