KEMPTON PARK
Race 2 No4 BAS BLEU
Trainer: Ed Walker – Jockey: Tom Marquand
Masar filly BAS BLEU shaped well to trouble the judge on her Lingfield introduction when a 125-1 roughie. She clearly has ability, and three weeks on from a run that will have made her streetwise, she can outpoint the slightly more experienced Arts Of War.
Race 5 No2 ENGINEER (Nap)
Trainer: Clive Cox – Jockey: Rossa Ryan
This is a warmly contested three-year-only handicap in which ENGINEER should come out on top. The Showcasing colt has a good draw one off the fence and has experience of the track, having chased home the useful Mukaafah last time. An earner on his other two starts at Wolverhampton, he has the wherewithal to outpoint Bulldog Drummond and Flag Carrier.
Race 6 No4 OCEAN HEIGHTS
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Aiden Brookes
Pipe does well with his stayers on the Flat and in OCEAN HEIGHTS fields a strong candidate for this mile and three furlongs Class 4. The selection produced good runs on three visits here in the run up to Christmas, climaxing with a battling success under his apprentice pilot a fortnight ago. Although handed the worst of the draw he appeals as the clear pick on that solid course form.
Race 8 No3 RUBIO DE ORO
Trainer: Marco Botti – Jockey: Hollie Doyle
One that could perform above his forecast odds is RUBIO DE ORO who breaks from the rail under Hollie Doyle in this race round a lap of the track. The Phoenix Of Spain gelding drops back in trip for this handicap debut, and though needing to improve on what he’s shown so far, he probably can.
