TOP BET FOR TODAY

Race 3: TUSCAN WINTER (7)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Janse van Vuur

TUSCAN WINTER followed up his maiden win with a good second-place finish over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was eye-catching. The son of What A Winter looks to have some class about him and if not too far out of his ground, he should be the one to beat.

Race 6: BIG CITY GIRL (1)
Jockey: Munger R – Trainer: Spies C

BIG CITY GIRL has some good recent form lines to her credit. She set the pace over 1600m last time and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of Eightfold Path takes a small drop in class and should be suited to the 1400m.

Race 7: PATON’S TEARS (3)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: Houdalakis M

PATON’S TEARS showed good signs of a form return in her last start over 1200m at the Vaal. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Coup De Grace is unbeaten from two starts over this distance and should keep the record intact.

Race 8: CHLORIS (1)
Jockey: Lerena G – Trainer: De Kock M

CHLORIS has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She has won once and finished third twice from four starts over this distance. The daughter of Flower Alley takes a drop in class and with a bit of luck from her wide draw, she should be the one to beat.

Race 9: CAPETOWN AFFAIR (9)
Jockey: Habib C – Trainer: Fortune A

CAPETOWN AFFAIR has shown signs of needing his last two starts after returning from a lengthy 51-week break. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Capetown Noir has dropped nicely in the ratings and should be at peak fitness. Calvin Habib retains the ride and he may be the one to cause the upset.
