Race 5

Two 3yr old fillies and a 5yr old mare could fight out the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but the day’s best bet, FLYING FLOSSY is taken to lead the field home. She had finished second twice prior to ending up in fourth place last time out over a mile, just under a length and a half behind the winner. She made good late progress that day and although drawn wide in gate twelve, she should be doing her best work late. She will also get a set of blinkers fitted for the first time and if these have the desired effect, she should prove hard to topple.

OH YOKO did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight having to weave her way through traffic before finishing sixth in her latest outing over seven furlongs, 2.7L back from the winner. The form of that race has been franked and from a wideish draw eight, she could prove to be the biggest danger to the top choice.

ARGYLL GARDENS is seldom far off the action, finishing second last time out over seven furlongs, just a head off the winner. From gate five, she should turn in another honest performance here to be involved in the finish.

Race 6

As with the previous race, fillies could dominate the finish to this contest and secure the trifecta. EIGHT OF A KIND was returning from a 22 week break and having her first run for her new trainer when winning her maiden race last time out over five furlongs by 0.7L, despite racing three wide without cover and racing green from the 200M mark. She jumps from a wideish draw eight, but she will be looking to chalk up a quick double and is made the value bet on the day’s card.

SHEILA goes for her hat-trick after two victories over five furlongs, the latest by a neck. She has cracked pole position and the treble is very much on the cards.

OKAMI MISS raced three wide into the home stretch, but stayed on well to finish sixth last time out over six furlongs, just over one and a half lengths behind the winner. She is drawn seven and will get blinkers fitted for the first time, as well as having 2kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice.

Race 7

EASY ROSIE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys and tried to go from jump to wire when finishing fifth last time out over seven furlongs, 2.3L off the winner and the form of that race has been franked. She faces a wide gate nine, but she is likely to attempt similar tactics today.

READY TO HUMBLE is another who tried to go from gun to tape when finishing sixth in his latest outing over seven furlongs, 5.3L adrift of the victor, but that was at a stronger center. From his kinder draw four, he could do better here in lesser company. SEVENTH SEAL’S last four runs have yielded a second and three third place finishes, the latest over five furlongs, 0.7L behind the winner. The gelding showed plenty of toe that day, but hung out in the home straight. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate thirteen, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

Race 8

DIAMOND CARAT is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she has consistent formlines to her name, storming home to finish third last time out over six furlongs, just a half length behind the winner, suggesting that she should enjoy the extra ground on offer today. She jumps from gate seven and will be looking for her third career victory.

YOUR NOT THE BOSS followed up his penultimate run win over six furlongs with a third place finish next time out over seven furlongs, 0.7L back from the winner. He will have to overcome a wide draw eighteen, but he is a speedy sort who should be able to work his way across without using up too much gas.

HOWLOWCANYOUGO put his disappointing penultimate effort over a mile behind him when finishing fifth last time out over seven furlongs, three lengths back from the winner, notwithstanding jumping awkwardly and it should also be noted that the form of that race has stood up well with three runners out of that contest subsequently winning. The gelding returns here from a 12 week rest without having had the benefit of a barrier trial, so his fitness will have to be taken on trust, but whilst he has a wide draw ten, on the plus side, he will have 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice and should be included in all bets.
