Race 4

There are two unraced runners in the field, so keep an eye on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether either of the connection believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for either, or both, should be respected. Of the raced runners, TOSEN DREAMER may prove to be the best. She is a 4-year-old filly taking on the boys, but her last four runs have yielded a second and three third place finishes, the latest over six furlongs, just over a length behind the winner. She struck the front at the top of the home straight that day and was only run out of it late. She will have to negotiate a wide draw thirteen, but she should use her early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

DAIMYO sat just behind the leader and stayed on well to finish fourth last time out over 1106M, just under two lengths back from the victor. He has his peak run after returning from a 20-week break and jumps from a kinder gate five.

INLANDA has only had two runs to date, finishing fourth on debut over 1300M and then raced three wide without cover, before staying on well to end up in fourth place next time out over 1300M, just under four lengths off the winner. The gelding would have come on further with that run under his belt and from a handy draw three, he should be included in all bets.

Race 5

ONE ‘N’ ONLY is a 4-year-old filly taking on males, but she showed plenty of toe when finishing second last time out over this C&D, just a length and a half behind the winner. She has her peak run after returning from a lengthy 52-week spell and for her new trainer and should be cherry-ripe for today’s contest. She has a useful draw four and will have 1.5kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice and is made the best bet on the day’s card.

STAR OF ROBIGLEN has finished third in his last three outings and tried to go from jump to wire before tiring late to finish 2.8L behind the winner over 1050M. The gelding faces a wideish gate eight, but he is a speedy sort who should be able to work his way across without using up too much gas.

NEOCLASSICISM had solid form prior to being a tad disappointing when ending up in seventh place in his latest start over seven furlongs, 4.3L adrift of the winner. He has his first run for his new trainer and if fully settled into his new surroundings and with ex-SA jockey Sean Cormack in the irons, who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle, he should give a good account of himself here.

Race 6

ENVIABLE has cracked pole position and was returning from an 18-week rest when finishing eighth last time out over 1350M, just under seven lengths adrift of the victor, but he did jump awkwardly and overraced in the early stages that day and understandably had little to offer over the closing stages. He seems better than that effort and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s program.

WONFORWAZZA tried to go from gun to tape when showing marked improvement to finish second in his latest outing over a mile, one and a half lengths behind the winner. The gelding was only grabbed over the final 75M when shifting inwards. He gets gate six and should be right up there when they hit the line.

SIR RANDOLPH is the stable companion to the top choice who raced three wide without cover and came four wide into the home straight when finishing seventh last time out over 1350M, just under six lengths back from the winner. He will have to deal with a wide draw eleven, but nevertheless, he makes a solid backup for the yard.

Race 7

TECTONIC PLATE is a 4-year-old filly taking on boys, but she goes for her hat-trick after two victories over six furlongs, the latest by one and a half lengths. She took up the running at the 500M pole in that event and then held off the chasing pack in the dash down to the wire. She has pulled draw five and the trio is very much on the cards.

HARDLEY GREY on the other hand missed out on his hat-trick when finishing second in his latest outing over six furlongs, 0.8L off the winner. He finished strongly in that event to just fair to overhaul the winner and despite a wide draw ten, he will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today.

THE MAXINATOR delivered a powerful finish from some way back to finish third last time out over six furlongs, just a length behind the winner. The gelding will have to deal with a wide draw sixteen out over seventeen, but he should be doing his best work late.
