Race 4

There are two unraced runners in the field, so keep an eye on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether either of the connections believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for either or both of them should be respected. Of the raced runners BOSTON CITY may prove to be the best. His last three runs have yielded a second and two third-place finishes, the latest third over 1100M, just over two lengths behind the winner, but he was reported to be lame in his near-fore that day. The form of that race has stood up well with three runners out of that contest subsequently winning. The gelding does return from a 22-week rest, but did finish second in his only barrier trial to showcase his well-being and although drawn the widest of them all in gate thirteen, he should be doing his best work late.

TIME TO BOOGIE on the other hand has cracked pole position and had solid form prior to finishing sixth last time out over six furlongs, 7.2L adrift of the victor, but the form of that race has been franked. He sat just behind the leaders that day, but did not quite go on with his effort and seems likely to enjoy the drop in distance.

MISS ADAMAS is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has only had the two runs to date, finishing third on debut over 1100M and then second next time out over the same sprint trip, 1.7L behind the winner. He showed plenty of toe that day and from his handy draw two, he hopes to go one better today.

Race 5

COMPETITION raced towards the back of the field and hung out on the home turn before delivering a powerful finish to end up in fourth place last time out over 1350M, 1.2L back from the winner, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. He has his peak run after returning from a 16-week rest and from a useful gate two, he is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

SMARTAWI has consistent formlines to his name and race just behind the leaders before finishing well to claim second place in his latest outing over seven furlongs, one and a half lengths off the winner, but it should be noted that he was hampered in the closing stage. He will have to negotiate draw ten, but he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

CHOUILLY is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she has only had the three runs to date and had to be checked at the 150M mark when finishing tenth last time out over seven furlongs, but that was at a stronger centre. She faces an even wider draw fourteen, but given her style of racing, she is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the front runners over the latter part of the race.

Race 6

The day’s value bet, CROWNED BY ACES followed up his penultimate run victory over a mile with a fifth-place finish next time out over the same journey, just over a length and a half behind the winner, but he had nothing go his way that day. He raced wide without cover, had to be held up between the 150M and 50M mark and was bumped at that 50M pole, but the form of that race has stood up well with three runners out of that contest subsequently winning. The gelding was also reported to be lame in his near-fore and from a cosy draw four, he could prove hard to topple.

AUSBRED BLUEBIRD is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she goes for her hat-trick after victories over 2140m and 2340M, the latest by just under a half-length. She returns from a 30-week spell, but has had the benefit of three barrier trials. From gate seven, she should give the males a good run for their money. REAL PEACE is seldom far off the action and was slow away before staying on well to finish third last time out over six furlongs, just under three lengths back from the winner. He is drawn one outside the latter and should be included in all bets.

Race 7

This looks to be a tricky race to end off the day’s Jackpot with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. ENDORPHINS is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she finished well to just fail by a short-head in the shadow of the post to win her last race over eleven furlongs. She came the widest of them all into the home stretch that day, but battled all the way down to the wire and was reported to have been coughing post-race. She has pulled gate seven and looks to be the one to side with in this line-up.

FUDAI had his consistency rewarded with a half-length victory last time out over 1900M. He finished well that day to win going away from the opposition and on that effort, he should have no issue going the extra distance and he is sure to put his pole position to good use.

ROCK THE BELLS on the other is faced with a wide gate eighteen, but the tried to go from jump to wire when finishing third last time out over 1900M. just a length back from the winner and from that wideish draw, he is likely to use that early gate speed to attempt similar tactics today.
