Race 5

GORGEOUS ZARA is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she had her consistency rewarded with her maiden victory last time out over nine furlongs by 0.8L. She only saw daylight at the 250M mark that day but finished strongly to win going away. From her handy draw three, she looks to be the one that they all have to beat.

RELIABLE DUDE is seldom far off the action, finishing third last time out over a mile, just a half-length back from the winner. He made good late progress over the latter stages on that effort and should enjoy going the extra ground on offer here. The gelding has a wideish draw eight, but he should turn in another honest performance today.

MAKADEEL jumped awkwardly and had to be held up approaching the home turn, but stayed on well to win his last start over 1900M, albeit by just a short-head. He is another who should not be troubled by the extra distance and from gate six, he should be included in all bets.

Race 6

FOURTH SPARGO is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she won by 2.3L on debut over five furlongs, when showing plenty of toe and despite losing an off-fore shoe. She returns from a 17-week rest, but has finished second in her only barrier trial to showcase her well-being. She would also have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, she could be the one that they all have to beat, jumping from draw five.

KUNNESE finished fifth first time out over 1100M and then put five and a half lengths between himself and the opposition to win next time out when dropping down to five furlongs. The form of that race has been franked and from a useful gate four, he should be right up there when they hit the line.

PARTY DOLL is another 3yr old filly in the race and was a short-head winner last time out over five furlongs, at the third time of asking. She overraced and came three wide into the home straight in that event, before finishing off her race well. She has pulled draw seven and will be having her peak run after returning from a 16-week rest.

Race 7

EAU DE VIE is a 3yr old filly taking on boys, but she followed up her penultimate run victory over a mile with a sixth place finish next time out over ten furlongs, just over six lengths back from the winner, but that was in heavy going. The form of that race has however been franked and she has finished second in a subsequent barrier trial. She has cracked pole position and is made the best bet on the day’s card.
HAYATTI finished second on debut over 1100M and then went on to win his next start over six furlongs by just under a half length, notwithstanding only getting a clear run at the 250M pole. The gelding finished well that day, suggesting that he should appreciate the extra ground on offer today. He is drawn one outside the top choice and could emerge as his biggest danger.

GRAND CRUSADER won over six furlongs three runs back, finished six in his penultimate start over 1300M and then third in his latest outing over six furlongs, 1.7L behind the winner, but he was crowded in the early stages in that contest. The gelding is in turn drawn one outside the latter and should be involved in the finish.

Race 8

The day’s value bet, RUBY FLYER put five and a half lengths between himself and his rivals to win his last start over 1300M. He raced some way off the pace and had to be held up between the 400m and 250M mark, but once finding a clear passage, he bounded away from the field to record an easy victory and the form of that race has been franked. The gelding has a useful gate two and will be looking to complete a quick double.

Although ACCEBER is recorded as finishing ninth last time out over a mile, he was just over three and a half lengths back from the victor. He did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day, but did, nevertheless, finish off his race well and is sure to put his pole position to good use.

ELLIE’S DREAM has consistent formlines to his name and lost a length at the start before ending up fifth last time out over a mile, just a length behind the winner. The form of that race has however stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. The gelding faces a wide draw eleven, but he gets the blinkers removed for the first time and if this move has the desired effect, he should be a big runner here.
