Race 4

SMOKIN’ CRAZY followed up her penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a second place finish next time out over 1300M, two and a half lengths back from the winner, when returning from a 23 week break, but she had to be eased at the 1000M mark and was then crowded at the 800M pole, so she had her excuses. She has a handy draw two and with better luck in running, she could be hard to topple and is taken to be the best bet on the day’s card.

JUST GISELLA won over 1100M three runs back, finished seventh in her penultimate start over six furlongs and then third in her latest outing over the same sprint trip, two lengths behind the winner. She stayed on well that day, suggesting that the extra ground on offer here would be to her liking. She has pulled a useful gate four and will have ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham in the irons, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

PRINCESS CRUIZER has finished closer to the winner in each of her last three starts, the latest when fourth over 1500M, just over one and a half lengths behind the winner, but she was disappointed for a run at the 300M mark on that occasion, so that effort was encouraging. She jumps from a wideish gate eight, but nevertheless, she should be involved in the finish.

Race 5

SOLAR SYSTEM won his penultimate start over six furlongs and then jumped awkwardly bumping another runner shortly afterwards, before racing three wide without cover when finishing fourth next time out over 1100M, one length behind the winner. The gelding will have to negotiate a wide draw ten, but will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today.

LET’S TRY had his consistency rewarded with his maiden victory last time out over 1300M by 1.3L. He showed plenty of toe that day and whilst taking on stronger here, he gets ex-SA jockey Brandon in the saddle and may well be up to the task at hand.

IT’SACIRCUS has cracked pole position and will have cheek pieces fitted for the first time. The gelding won by just under a half length when making his debut over six furlongs, despite overracing in the middle stages, coming three wide into the home stretch and hanging out all the way down to the wire. He no doubt would have learnt from that experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, as well as having Keagan Latham retaining the ride, he should be included in all bets.

Race 6

This looks to be a tricky race with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. THERE THERE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has finished second in three of her last four starts, the latest over 1300M, just 1.3L behind the winner. She struck the front at the 200M mark that day and was only run out of it late. The form of that race has been franked and whilst drawn wide in gate ten, she could be the one to side with in this line-up.

CHARTWELL on the other hand has finished second on two of his last three outings, the latest over 1100M, one and a half lengths off the winner. He was slow away in that event and had to be held up at the top of the home stretch before finishing off his race well. The gelding is drawn one outside the top pick and returns from a 30 week break, but he has had two barrier trials, finishing second in the latest.

NARRATIVE is another 4yr filly in the race. She is seldom far off the action and jumped awkwardly and raced three wide without cover, before staying on well to end up in fifth place last time out over six furlongs, just over a length back from the winner. She gets draw seven and should not be easily overlooked.

Race 7

The day’s value bet, PICKO ROCKS missed out on his hat-trick when finishing sixth in his penultimate start over a mile and then finished second last time out over seven furlongs, just a half length behind the winner. He battled all the way down to the wire that day and from gate six, he will be looking to chalk up his third career victory.

TWO UP put two and a half lengths between himself and the opposition when winning his last start over 1500M. He kicked clear of the field at the 300M mark, and the result of the contest was never in doubt. With Keagan Latham in the irons, he is sure to put his pole position to good use.

THE SEVEN SEAS is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight, only seeing daylight at the 200M mark before finishing well to end up in second spot last time out over a mile, three length behind the winner. She jumps from gate six and will be hoping to go one better today.
