12:45 – Race 1 | Class 5 | 1650m

CHARIZARD was beaten just over a length by AMAZING NEWS in his last start. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and can turn the tables on his recent conqueror. MEDIC ELITE is holding his condition well. He will benefit from a 4.5kg apprentice allowance and must be considered in this opening contest.

13:15 – Race 2 | Class 4 | 1800m

Selections: 3/6/5

FLYING SILVER followed up back-to-back victories with a good effort when beaten just under a length by Star Contact. He runs well for veteran jockey Bowman and should give another good account of himself. HAPPY ANGEL was beaten a couple of lengths when runner-up behind Kowloon Great last time and could be one to fill the exacta spot.

13:45 – Race 3 | Class 4 – 1200m

Selections: 3/8/7

SPICY GRILL drops back to his best trip and is much better than his last performance suggests. PRIME MORTAR won his last start over this C&D. He remains in Class 4 and can make it quick back-to-back wins. The form of ALLGREEKTOME’S penultimate run is attractive. He finished 1.5 lengths behind Gold Gold Baby on that occasion and is a big runner if reproducing that type of effort.

14:15 – Race 4 | Class 3 | 1000m

Selections: 2/4/3

CALIFORNIA DEEPLY is racing well and went close to reeling off a hat-trick last time. He comes in at the top of the weights and interestingly won under Chadwick at the end of November. HEROIC MASTER finished 1.5 lengths behind the top selection in his penultimate start. He is 6.5kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits.

14:45 – Race 5 | Class 4 | 1000m

PACHISI produced an eye-catching debut effort when beaten half a length by Faribault. He should come on nicely with that run under the belt and this Richards trained inmate will have plenty of followers. AMAZING ROCKY managed to defeat CIRCUIT SEVEN in his penultimate outing and Wong’s 2.5kg apprentice allowance will assist. HEARTY WISH comes in at the bottom of the weights, has decent form lines to his credit and can run into the money.

15:15 – Race 6 | Class 3 | 1200m

Selections: 4/5/9

EXCELLENT PEERS wasn’t disgraced behind shock winner Jolly Ruler last time. He shoulders a more suitable weight, looks nicely handicapped and is a genuine contender in this line-up. STAR BRITE managed to defeat XPONENTIAL in November. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights on that effort and is drawn best of all.

15:45 – Race 7 | Class 1 | 1650m

PACKING AWARD is talented and was only beaten a length in a Group 3 last time out. The booking of Purton to ride is encouraging and he should get the best out of this Ho trained inmate. THE IRISHMAN and FANTASTIC TREASURE finished alongside each other when beaten by Mr Ascendency and there shouldn’t be too much separating them at the wire.

16:15 – Race 8 | Class 1 | 1200m

Selections: 5/7/3

REWARDING TOGETHER is in a rich vein of form and is hard to ignore on his recent effort in a Group 3. He beat PING HAI GALAXY in his penultimate start and is now 2.5kgs better off at the weights. NERVOUS WITNESS showed signs of needing his comeback run and should strip a much fitter horse.

16:50 – Race 9 | Class 3 | 1650m

Selections: 3/4/6

ENCOUNTERED is chasing a hat-trick in the lucky last and runs well for De Sousa. He is likely to race on the speed from gate 5 and looks one of the better bets on the card. RISING FROM ASHES was given a peach of a ride to get up and beat the progressive Jumbo Legend last time. He is also well-drawn and can challenge the top selection.
