The South African-bred chestnut APEX TOP steps up to a mile and can feature in this opening contest if overcoming the wide draw.

SPICY GRILL was running on too late when narrowly beaten by Lucky Archangel in his last start. He should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. The grey RAINBOW LIGHT has some fair recent form lines to his credit and should give the top selection a run for his money.

BLISSFUL STAR has consistent form lines and challenged strongly up the inside rail last time. It is encouraging that Purton has kept faith in the ride and he will have plenty followers in this contest. AMAZING BOY produced a below-par last effort which is arguably best ignored and has claims if repeating his 14 September effort.

ISLAND SURPRISE has attractive form and tried to sneak up the inside rail when narrowly beaten by Sunny And Gold last time. He comes in at the bottom of the weights and could be one to cause an upset. DURHAM STAR followed up his comeback win with a decent effort shouldering this weight and should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest.
14:45 – Race 5 | Class 4 | 1000m

YELLOWFIN placed on the All Weather surface last time behind the speedy Trader. He is nicely weighted, and the drop back to 1000m should be right up his alley. SEE U AGAIN is still in search of his first career win. He meets the right field today and can find the winner’s enclosure.
15:15 – Race 6 | Class 3 | 1800m

LUCKY DIAMOND dictated terms well over this C&D last time. He rises is class, goes for a hat-trick of wins and should be up to the task at hand. CHAMPION DRAGON ran on nicely from a wide draw last time. He is jumping from barrier two this time around and merits healthy respect.
15:45 – Race 7 | Class 2 | 1000m

The talented WHIZZ KID produced a good comeback run when beaten just over a length by Lucky With You. He is unbeaten on this course, is loaded with ability and can get back to winning ways. EQUALETTA BLITZ showed signs of needing his comeback run when 1.5 lengths behind PING HAI GALAXY. He is 2kgs better off the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating them when they hit the line.
16:15 – Race 8 | Class 3 | 1000m

The Aussie-bred HEROIC MASTER caught the eye in his first Hong Kong start when beaten just under a length by Ping Hai Galaxy. He would have gained from the experience and looks one of the better bets on the card. SERGEANT PEPPER has finished close-up in his last two starts over this C&D and was just pipped by the progressive Gold Gold Baby last time. He is nicely handicapped and should make his presence felt once more.
16:50 – Race 9 | Class 3 – 1200m

FIVE ELEMENTS has placed in both attempts on this course and finished runner-up behind subsequent winner Street Scream last time. He was a beaten favourite on that occasion and will be looking to make amends. SOLAR WINDS meets the top selection on the same weight terms and must also be strongly considered in the lucky last.
