BILLY SILVER was a ‘ball of speed’ when he crushed his rivals in landing the betting coup on debut over six furlongs on this course late last month. The handicapper’s have granted him a massive early merit rating but the Silvano colt appears a high class sort who will have no issues with this minimum trip. Top jockey Delpech had huge praise for the three-year old after that debut victory.

There are some really fast sorts in this high quality five furlong handicap where an upset in the form of former Cape resident GEOGRAPHE BAY could be on the cards. The lightly raced four-year old had shown promise from day one (incidentally with today’s pilot aboard) and her game last defeat of older rivals under a massive weight underlines her ability. The chestnut daughter of Horse Chestnut takes a steep rise in class today but she would have strengthened during the 22 week absence and certainly has huge scope for improvement. She can raise her game and is her yard’s only entrant on the card.
