GORGEOUS WIN produced a promising debut effort when beaten a couple of lengths at the wire. He should come on nicely with that run under the belt and is one of the leading contenders. The Douglas Whyte-trained LUCKY PLANET produced a fair last run under Karis Teetan. He shoulders a handy galloping mass and must also be strongly considered in this opening contest.

ROMANTIC HERO had plenty of followers on debut when 3.2 lengths behind STAR CLUB. He is 3kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result. EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS finished half a length in front of CIRCUIT NINE in his last start. The pair meet on similar weight terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line.

07:35 – Race 3 | Class 3 | 1400m

Selections: 11/9/6

LET’S DO IT finished just over a length behind TAMRA BLITZ last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights which should be enough to turn the tables. GLOBAL HARMONY has good recent form lines to his credit and he should give another good account of himself.

08:10 – Race 4 | Group 1 | 2400m

The Aiden O’Brien-trained WARM HEART won a Group 1 over this marathon trip last time. She comes in with a light weight and is unbeaten under Ryan Moore. LEBENSSTIL is a Japanese raider with impressive form lines to his credit. The 3-year-old colt won a Group 2 under Joao Moreira last time and the combination merit healthy respect.

08:50 – Race 5 | Group 1 | 1200m

LUCKY SWEYNESSE bounced back to winning ways last time when getting up to defeat VICTOR THE WINNER by a neck. He is arguably the best sprinter in Hong Kong having recorded the best time over this C&D. WELLINGTON finished a length behind the top selection in the race mentioned above. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may have to settle for the same result.

09:25 – Race 6 | Class 3 | 1800m

SILVER KING was touched off by a neck in his first attempt in Hong Kong. He gets James McDonald aboard and he may be able to coax a little extra out of him where it matters most. SWAN BAY has finished close-up behind ENSUED in his last two starts. He is nicely weighted and can give the top selection a good run for his money.

10:00 – Race 7 | Group 1 | 1600m

The superstar GOLDEN SIXTY hasn’t had a run this season but he is coming off a hat-trick of Group 1 victories. If he is fully tuned up then he should take a power of beating. BEAUTY ETERNAL won his last start narrowly defeating BEAUTY JOY. The pair meet on the same weight terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line.

10:40 – Race 8 | Group 1 | 2000m

The defending champ ROMANTIC WARRIOR won the Ladbrokes Cox Plate in his last start and raided Australia with success. PROGNOSIS finished second behind the top selection at the end of April and he may be the biggest danger in this line-up. LUXEMBOURG finished half a length behind the highly-rated Auguste Rodin in the Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes and he must also be included in all bets.

11:20 – Race 9 | Class 3 | 1200m

THE HEIR finished 1.8 lengths behind GALAXY PATCH last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights which should be enough to turn the tables. SWEET BRIAR has finished a neck behind the winner in his last two starts. Lyle Hewitson knows him very well and the combination merit respect.

12:00 – Race 10 | Class 2 | 1400m

Selections: 8/7/4

ATULLIBIGEAL was beaten the narrowest of margins by THE GOLDEN SCENERY last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits in the lucky last. HELIOS EXPRESS has a solid record on this course. He should be suited to the extra furlong but the wide draw is an obvious concern.
