ADEFILL was beaten the narrowest of margins by Erimo last time. He is a course specialist, Karis Teetan knows him well and the combination should take a power of beating. The French-bred BEAUTY CHAMP won on the All Weather last season. He is well-drawn in barrier 2 and could be one to fill the exacta spot in this opening contest.
7:30 – Race 2 | Class 4 | 1650m

MISSION BRAVO finished 1.5 lengths behind BEAR SLAM on this course last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights and can turn the tables on his recent conqueror. The Whyte trained BOOM ALLIANCE finished just under a length behind the top selection in the race mentioned above. He is also nicely weighted and should strip fitter this time around.
8:00 – Race 3 | Class 4 | 1800m

PAKISTAN FRIEND won his last start despite racing three-wide for most of the journey. He is in a good space and can extend his impressive winning streak. FOREVER GLORIOUS and REACH GOAL were both under a length behind the top selection last time. Both horses are better off at the weights and must be strongly considered in this Class 4 contest.
8:30 – Race 4 | Class 5 | 1400m

MASTER OF LUCK’S last two starts over this distance have been good under Harry Bentley. He comes in at the top of the weights and should be one of the leading contenders. The South African-bred APEX TOP has decent form lines to his credit. Lyle Hewitson takes the ride and he should give him all the necessary assistance from the wide barrier.
9:00 – Race 5 | Class 4 | 1200m

I GIVE is fresh off back-to-back wins and on form is difficult to oppose. He won his penultimate start under Jerry Chau and the combination merit healthy respect. ENDEARED has decent form lines to his credit. He drops back to 1200m and can give another good account of himself in this type of field.
9:35 – Race 6 | Class 4 | 1200m

RED DESERT, FLYING DRAGON and MULTISUPER were all beaten under a length in a competitive finish behind KILLER INSTINCT. All three horses are 2kgs better off at the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line. BRAVE WITNESS has caught the eye in recent barrier trials and could be one to follow throughout the season.
10:05 – Race 7 | Class 2 | 1200m

YOUTHFUL DEAL is much better than his last two starts. All four of his victories have come on this course and he will relish racing back on the All Weather. REWARD SMILE isn’t proven on this surface but he was beaten the narrowest of margins at Happy Valley last time. He shoulders a handy galloping weight and the booking of Karis Teetan to ride is a big plus.
10:35 – Race 8 | Class 2 | 1400m

FIND MY LOVE was a beaten favorite when half a length behind THE GOLDEN SCENERY. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. DANCING CODE won his last start narrowly at Happy Valley. He is loaded with ability and should give the top selection a good run for his money.
11:10 – Race 9 | Class 3 | 1600m
Selections: 5/2/9
SNAFFLES was beaten narrowly by HAPPY TOGETHER in his last start. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights which should be enough to reverse the result. SUPERB BOY is chasing a hat-trick. He hails from the in-form Lui stable and may be suited to the step up in distance. BIG RED finished 1.5 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is nicely handicapped and can run into the trifecta.
11:45 – Race 10 | Class 3 | 1200m

EXCELLENT FIGHTER finished a couple of lengths behind SUPER FORTUNE last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and there shouldn’t be too much separating them at the wire. GLOBAL HARMONY has found one better in his last two starts and will be looking to make amends. HAPPY DAILY is nicely weighted with apprentice Chung aboard and must also be strongly considered in the lucky last!
