ERUPT THE DAWN produced a promising debut effort over 1700m on the Vaal Classic course. She jumped outwards leaving the start, but the manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Erupt would have gained from the experience and will love the rise to 2000m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.

Jockey: G Lerena – Trainer: J Janse van Vuuren
THING CALLED LOVE showed good improvement in her last start over this C&D. She raced from just off the pace, moved up but was outrun late by Sakhala Is’cathulo. The daughter of Rafeef would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She meets the right field and should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

TIME FO ORCHIDS is unbeaten from two starts for the Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. She showed good speed over 1160m on the Standside course last time and won with a ton in hand. Her penultimate victory was equally impressive over this distance. The daughter of Time Thief is the form horse in this contest and she can notch up the hat-trick

Race 7: KING RAHUL (4)
Jockey: M van Rensburg – Trainer: C Spies
KING RAHUL stayed on at the finish over 1400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Fulliautomatix who has come out and won again since. The son of Captain Of All is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe. He should have no issues with the rise to 1500m and with luck in running, he can return to winning ways.
