The well-bred chestnut ran on well to finish just out of the money over this c & d in his penultimate outing and he now faces the consistent GENTLEMAN ONLY on 5.5kgs better terms for a 1.60 lengths deficit in that clash. The Azzie inmate can quickly bounce back to form from his good draw.

BLUE SAGE still needs to convince she gets the trip but she may be ridden with restraint by her in- form jockey and the bay mare has the form to pull off victory in this low-key twelve furlong handicap. She stayed on for a decent 4th under a big mass earlier this month.

SPRING INDEED has done well since returning from a long break but she was moved on too soon by her young jockey down a long run-in over a mile earlier this month. It is extremely surprising that she was docked a pound in her rating and she can easily overturn that form with today’s rivals MONARCH AIR and GOLDDUST WOMAN who finished narrowly ahead of her that day. The Tarry inmate now gets the services of a strong jockey and her good draw is a major advantage.

She was soundly beaten by SNOWDONIA a fortnight ago but is 4kgs better off with that rival for a 4.10 lengths deficit. She will be cherry-ripe today.
