LADY OSIER ran a good race when finishing second over 1450m on the Classic course last time. She raced from a handy position, but was outrun in the latter stages by Count Pablo. Samuel Mosia retains the ride and in this line-up, she should go one better.

CAPE BOUQUET’S last three starts have been decent. She was reported to be fatigued after her last start against male company. It must be noted that London Roads has come out and won again since. She will enjoy the drop to 1800m and back against her own sex, she should shed her maiden tag.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE is the best bet on the card. He was his own worst enemy over 1600m last time as he over raced in the early stages, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. He returns from a 13-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Rafeef tries the 1800m for the first time and if Goodman Dadamasi is able to switch him off early, he should be the one to beat.

DOUBLE MAGIC was allowed to stride up front in his last start over this C&D. His penultimate run when finishing a head behind Black Burner, the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. He gets the services of experienced workrider Samuel Mosia and if ridden with some restraint, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

BEADED GOWN is much better than her last start in the Non-Black Type BSA Sales Cup. She returns from a lengthy 36-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. Her debut effort when finishing third over 1160m at Turffontein was encouraging. The daughter of Rafeef has plenty of scope and if fit, she should be the horse to beat.
