KAMBULU is the best bet on the programme. He was awkward when taking the turn over this distance at Turffontein last time, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Querari is a progressive type and if not too green around the bend, he should take a power of beating in this line-up.
Race 5: RAISEAHALLELUJAH (4)
Jockey: K Matsunyane – Trainer: C Dawson
RAISEAHALLELUJAH is better than his last start in the Grade 1 Summer Cup as he raced wide around the turn. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won twice and finished second three times from as many starts over this distance. He runs well for Kabelo Matsunyane and from his good draw of three, he can notch up his seventh career victory.
Race 6: PRAGMATIST (4)
Jockey: SCRATCHED – Trainer: J A Janse van Vuuren
PRAGMATIST was an easy winner of his last start over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Jackson is above average and may be the one to beat. He is carded to race on 24 December 2022 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Jockey: J P van der Merwe – Trainer: M G/A A Azzie
GIMME A SHOT was super-impressive when winning the Grade 2 Ipi Tombe Challenge over 1600m last time. She raced from a prominent position, showed a good turn of foot and won with a ton in hand. She should have no issues with the drop to 1200m as she has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this trip. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is the best weighted runner in this contest and she should take a power of beating.

ROSE WILLOW has shown signs of a form return in her last two starts. She lost a length at the start over 1800m last time, but stayed on to finish fourth. She is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field from the widest draw of 12 and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
