Entrenching his status as a South African treasure, Makazole Mapimi received a rousing rendition of “Abazonge Bambone” by the Gwijo Squad while out shopping.

A moving video is currently doing the rounds that espouses the South African spirit. It shows Springboks wing Makazole Mapimpi being serenaded by adoring fans while out shopping, quite possibly in Durban.

Mapimpi is currently out in France for Rugby World Cup 2023, where the Boks are still in with a big chance of defending their world title. “D-Rex” played a pivotal role in the triumph back in 2019, scoring the game-breaking try in the final against England, which South Africa won 32-12 in Yokohama.

His heroics on the field have earned him deep respect in the country and abroad, with his story of overcoming the odds to get where he is playing a big part in this reverence. Wherever he goes, he gets loud cheers and long ovations, pointing to his undeniable star power.
