Lukhanyo Am goes full Jedi

Ireland winger Mack Hansen deservedly earned plaudits this weekend after scoring sensationally in Ireland’s Six Nations loss in Paris on Saturday, plucking a Joey Carbery restart out of the air to complete a proper wonder try.

Hansen’s effort is definitely the type of thing you don’t see too often, and won’t be forgotten anytime soon, but it pales in comparison to what Sharks skipper Lukhanyo Am produced during his side’s win over the Bulls in Pretoria earlier in the day. See it for yourself:

The effort is likely to be played on South African rugby screens for years to come. Unreal!

Tadhg Beirne covers for Sexton

In another memorable piece of play during Ireland’s defeat to France, Munster second-rower Tadhg Beirne mitigated the absence of Johnny Sexton by showcasing his own ability to put boot to ball — earning his side valuable possession by executing a superb 50:22.

There aren't too many second rows around who could pull this 50:22 off.

100 up for Biggar, Davies

Dan Biggar and Jonathan Davies each brought up a century of Test caps during Wales’ win over Scotland on Saturday. Welsh skipper Biggar started at No 10 in his 97th game for his country, with his other three caps coming during last year’s Lions tour of South Africa.

Davies, who won his 94th Wales cap to go with six for the Lions, came off the bench in the victory. They joined Alun Wyn Jones, Gethin Jenkins, Stephen Jones, George North, Martyn Williams, Gareth Thomas, Adam Jones and Leigh Halfpenny as Wales internationals to have played in 100 Test matches.
