PREVIEW: 2023/24 German Bundesliga – Week 2

We kicked off the German Bundesliga with a bang – 7/9 predictions in the bag. Bayern Munich and Dortmund have gotten the ball rolling, while RB Leipzig’s Super Cup win failed to inspire three points in their league opener.

Friday, 25 August

RB Leipzig 5/10 | Draw 36/10 | Stuttgart 48/10 (20:30)

The RB Leizpig punt last matchday was nailed on for both teams to score, but I honestly didn’t expect them to lose the fixture after such a great performance against Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup. The home ground advantage may prove beneficial against Stuttgart, but their 5-0 victory over Bochum leans towards another both teams to score play at 7/10.

Saturday, 26 August

Heidenheim 2/1 | Draw 51/20 | Hoffenheim 5/4 (15:30)

Heidenheim’s start to their Bundesliga campaign was always going to be a difficult one away from home, and Hoffenheim will be kicking themselves after conceding 2-0 goals in the last five minutes of the first half to lose 2-1. The away win has value.

Cologne 13/10 | Draw 51/20 | Wolfsburg 2/1 (15:30)

Wolfsburg’s Jonas Wind netted a brace in the first half to confidently dispose of newcomers Heidenheim 2-0, while Cologne’s new defensive structure did well until the 88th minute against Dortmund losing 1-0.  The under 2.5 market at 11/10 is likely with the home team’s defensive cohesion.

Darmstadt 28/10 | Draw 5/2 | Union Berlin 1/1 (15:30)

Union’s home form will always be a force to reckon with as 32-year-old Kevin Behrens netted a hattrick. I don’t believe newcomers Darmstadt stand a chance. Get strongly behind Union.

Bochum 58/10 | Draw 44/10 | Dortmund 4/10 (15:30)

Bochum are in for a tough start to the season after suffering a 5-0 defeat to fellow relegation contenders last season, and now faced off with last campaigns title challengers. Banker Dortmund to get the job done away from home.

Freiburg 7/1 | Draw 3/1 | Werder Bremen 39/10 (15:30)

Freiburg stole the game 2-1 with an own goal and late first half goal to catch Hoffenheim sleeping, as Werder suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat in front of their home crowd. The home win is a sketchy play after last week’s performance, but it’s the most likely outcome.

Monchengladbach 49/20 | Draw 29/10 | Bayer Leverkusen 19/20 (18:30)

Monchengladbach poorly threw away a 2-0 and 3-1 lead to draw their opening fixture 4-4. While Bayer Leverkusen got their party started with a 3-2 victory over German Super Cup champions, RB Leipzig, who are extremely hard to keep at bay. The away team is a good straight bet.

Sunday, 27 August

Mainz 31/20 | Draw 51/20 | Eintracht Frankfurt 33/20 (15:30)

Even though last matchday only recorded one draw, this matchup is likely to be a banana skin. The draw is on.

Bayern Munich 1/11 | Draw 10/1 | Augsburg 21/1 (17:30)

Harry Kane finally got off the mark with a late second half goal, while Leroy Sane and Mathys Tel netted in additional time to secure last week’s Bayern and over 2.5 prediction. The defending champions are getting the ball rolling under Thomas Tuchel, but don’t discount Augsburg finding the back of the net. Back both teams to score at 9/10.

TREBLE @ 5/1

Hoffenheim Win 5/4
Union Berlin Win 1/1
Dortmund Win 4/10
