Premier League - Friday 5iver

All eyes will be on Sunday’s league-defining encounter. Each of the last five Premier League meetings between the top two sides that have taken place within the final 10 games of the season, has seen the team in second place come out victorious.

Should that happen this time around, Liverpool will see themselves finish the day top of the Premier League table. That is the concluding fixture of this round of league action, but there are feisty matchups scattered throughout the weekend.

Everton are firmly in the relegation battle and take aim at a United side that has been blowing hot and cold. Following 4 straight away league fixtures, Newcastle will be in action at St. James’ Park where they have won three consecutive league fixtures.

Nketiah to start for goal-shy Gunners?

Eddie Nketiah could be set for his first league start of the season. Arsenal have scored just a single goal across their previous three league outings – missing four big chances in that time. Arteta will be looking to shake things up and it could mean a change of personnel up top. Alexandre Lacazette has attempted a team-high six shots – with none of them on target. In his last run out, Eddie Nketiah created one big chance and hit the woodwork in just 24 minutes so it looks like he could lead the line at the Emirates this weekend.

Creative Kane key to Spurs’ top-four push

Harry Kane has created 10 chances across Tottenham’s previous 3 league outings, with 4 of them being classified as big chances. He has bagged 3 assists and helped himself to a goal which means he was directly involved in 4 of their 10 goals scored during this period. The forward missed 3 big chances and was fouled the most from all teammates so it’s clear that he is proving to be a handful for those defenders.

Hornet’s home form a worry

Watford are yet to register a point at home under Roy Hodgson. Under his tutelage, the eight points Watford have gained in their 10 fixtures under their mentor have all come away from home (W2 D2 L2). Hodgson will need to resurrect their form at Vicarage Road and a certain attacker could be the catalyst in their quest for league survival. Emmanuel Dennis has attempted 10 shots across his previous three home league fixtures. During that time, he has hit the woodwork once and missed three big chances.

Salah to decide City v Liverpool?

Only Manchester City (12) are on a longer unbeaten away run than Liverpool in the league (5), joint level with Crystal Palace. The Merseyside club come into this one as the league’s highest scorers on the road (38). It comes as no surprise that Mohamed Salah tops the scoring charts for away goals, with 11 to his name. Shockingly, the forward has missed 11 big chances on his travels – underlining the supply that he gets.

Dan James to put Watford to the sword?

Leeds have scored six goals across their previous three league outings. Whilst he has not got on the scoresheet, no teammate has attempted more shots than Daniel James. The forward has hit the bar once and missed 2 big chances during that period. Furthermore, he has created 4 chances, picking up 1 assist, but will surely be looking to get on the scoresheet himself.
