Manchester City will look to maintain their perfect start to the 2023-24 Premier League season when they travel to Bramall Lane to face newly-promoted Sheffield United on Sunday.

The reigning champions have made a strong start to the new campaign, with a 3-0 victory over Burnley on the opening weekend followed by a 1-0 home success over Newcastle United last Saturday.

Pep Guardiola will not be on the touchline for City’s next two games as he recovers from an emergency back operation in Barcelona, so assistant coach Juanma Lillo will take charge of the senior side for Sunday’s trip to South Yorkshire and the home clash with Fulham before the international break.

Kevin De Bruyne underwent hamstring surgery last weekend and the playmaker is facing up to four months on the sidelines.

Meanwhile,

Mohamed Salah is the subject of concrete interest from Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad, causing concern for Liverpool fans with one week until the Premier League transfer window closes.

But Jurgen Klopp says that Liverpool are yet to receive an offer from Saudi Arabia for Mohamed Salah, insisting that the Anfield hero is “100 per cent” committed to his current club.
