Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson confirms exit

Although it is yet to be officially confirmed it is rumoured that the 33-year-old midfielder will move to Al-Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League in a deal worth £12m plus add-ons.

Henderson, who has been at Liverpool for 12 years, sent a farewell message to fans via his Instagram account.

“Just know, I will always be a Red, until the day I die,” he said.

“I can’t lie, there have been hard times, really hard times. But when I look back at my career at Liverpool, it will always be the good times that I remember.”

Henderson said the 2019 Champions League triumph over Tottenham in Madrid was his favourite memory as a player.

In all Henderson played more than 400 games for Liverpool and scored 29 goals.
