Amakhosi were expected to hire the Tunisian tactician after a flat season with Arthur Zwane at the helm, but fans were gobsmacked when the club instead announced former Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki as the new head coach last week.

With the dust settling, Nabi has now revealed he walked away from one of the most converted coaching jobs in Southern Africa due to Chief’s demands for him to work with Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard as his assistant for financial reasons.

According to Goal journalist Austin Ditlhobolo, Nabi said, “I told them I could not agree with their decisions. I wanted them to give me a chance to at least bring two assistants who will help me.

I realized that there was difficulty when they told me that there are people who have contracts with them and terminating them would have been expensive,” asserted Nabi.

“That’s when I decided to end negotiations with them.”

Kaizer Chiefs followed up the news of Ntseki taking over the club as head coach with the announcement of six new signings, which include one of the most wanted stickers in the division, Ranga Chivaviro.
