Manchester City

I’m not sure why so many people feel as though this cannot be said, but I wasn’t impressed with City’s performance last time out against Chelsea. I’m not looking at taking anything away from what Chelsea managed to achieve, but City just looked rather jaded at times.

I know City have injuries to contend with, but the quality in depth available to Pep Guardiola is unmatched by any other team in the League. I mean, it really doesn’t matter who comes into their team – they remain incredibly competitive.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the enthralling battle between Jeremy Doku and Jack Grealish. It’s a manager’s headache for sure, but one any manager in the world wouldn’t mind having!

You know exactly how City are going to approach the game, relentless in attack and uncompromising on defence. Erling Haaland being a doubt could be interesting to see – but I genuinely think it’s more a concern for FPL managers!

To Win Match
Man City 7/10 | Draw 32/10 | Liverpool 32/10

Liverpool

This is a massive opportunity for Liverpool, isn’t it? They want to remain in the title conversation for sure, and whilst not many people are talking about them, they are right up there.

I suppose you could say that the game has come at the right time for Liverpool as well. Their big names like Mo Salah and Luis Diaz are starting to fire on all cylinders and they will certainly need all eleven players on the pitch to be at their absolute best if they have any hope of winning this game.

I am interested to see how Liverpool set up – they will never back down from a challenge, but surely, they are mindful of the weapons at the disposal of Manchester City and Pep Guardiola…

Predicted Lineups:

Manchester City: Ederson, Gvardiol, Akanji, Dias, Walker, Silva, Rodri, Foden, Alvarez, Doku, Grealish.

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas, Szoboszlai, Endo, Gakpo, Salah, Nunez, Jota.

Verdict: Liverpool (32/10)

I really think this is the sort of game which suits Liverpool. City will have to play with a degree of impotence given they are playing at home, which plays right into Liverpool’s hands.

The Reds are also the side for me who comes into the game with the stronger and more complete attacking set up. They will not show too much respect for City, and it isn’t in Jurgen Klopp’s mentality to approach the game conservatively – Liverpool win!
