This is a tough little opening fixture for Chelsea, Brighton have continued to show a commitment to playing expansive and attacking football whilst under the auspices of Roberto De Zerbi. Chelsea will have to ensure their defensive stability before looking at going forward…nevertheless, I think this will be rather open. Back Over 2.5 goals here.

I suppose it’s fair to say that both these teams had remarkable seasons and will definitely want to consolidate those performances by getting good confidence going into this year. I’m not sure they can split and so the draw looks to be the pick for me.

I am incredibly eager to see these teams play this year. Newcastle are once again in the Champions League and Aston Villa could be a dark horse this year given the manager; they have the shrewd signings they have gotten through the door. This is an absolutely perfect chance to start coming together and enacting some positive performances – for both sides – but I’m going to favour the Magpies to draw first blood.
