George stepped down from his post after just two World Cup qualifiers, but not before angering the Napoli star.

Osimhen was accused by George of snubbing his country but the player says he was legitimately sidelined with injury.

Nigeria struggled in games against South Africa and Benin, drawing the first game 1-1 before going on to lose 2-1.

Osimhen expressed his frustration with George’s comments on social media.

The player insisted he had personally informed the coach of his injury and was even prepared to play but was ultimately snubbed by George.

The NFF have reviewed the video and will now potentially consider taking disciplinary action against Osimhen.
