Hugo Broos’ side can move to the top of Group C with a convincing win over the Warriors and importantly take advantage of Nigeria’s shock defeat to Benin on Monday.

Williams stressed the importance of clinching at least four points from their two June qualifiers to take a huge step towards clinching qualification.

“We’re looking forward to the Zimbabwe game. We know, obviously, they are coming off of a defeat,” Williams said.

“So, they’re going to look to turn things around. But we’re playing at home.

“We’ve received a wonderful welcome here in Bloemfontein. You can see the excitement in the fans. You can see the happiness in the players as well. We’re looking forward to the game. We’re obviously going to prepare well.

“And we know we’ll prepare accordingly. We know we set ourselves a target for this camp. It’s either four or six points.

“And so far, we know what we need to do in order to reach our targets.”

Bafana Bafana currently sit fourth in the Group C standings with the winner of each of the nine CAF World Cup qualifying groups to compete at the 2026 World Cup.

The action is set to take place at the 46 000-capacity Free State Stadium.

Kick-off is at 18:00.
