Bafana Bafana fired a blank when they played to a goalless draw against Guinea on Friday. Bafana missed plenty of clear opportunities facing the goalkeeper.

Guinea’s keeper didn’t need to struggle to save Bafana opportunities as they were poorly executed by the front men. Evidence Makgopa, Keagan Dolly and Lyle Foster were the guilty parties as opportunities came one after the other.

The bright star in Hugo Broos’ boys would be Mamelodi Sundowns right-back Khuliso Mudau who piled the pressure from the right flank. Mudau was a constant threat in the Bafana attacks as he combined well with the midfield and attack. The back four of Bafana protected keeper Veli Mothwa throughout the match as there was little to no threat from Guinea.

Missed opportunities will make Hugo Broos rethink his strategies when South Africa face France on Tuesday. The world champions will not give Bafana opportunities inside their box like Guinea did.
