Desh Parthab previews Game Week 10 of the Spanish La Liga!

Before the international break, news broke of Sevilla and then manager Jose Mendilbar separating. Indeed, the reigning Europa League champions have picked up just two wins in the Spanish topflight. Log leaders, Real Madrid, made light work of Osasuna, brushing the Pamplona outfit aside 4-0. Granada stunned barcelona, with Ter Stegen conceding in the opening minute. Sergi Roberto netted in the 85th minute to rescue a point and maintain their unbeaten start to the season. They are up against former Madrid manager, Rafa Benetez, in this weekend’s La Liga action. 15/20 Osasuna | Draw 28/10 | Granada 7/2 (21:00)

Osasuna have the poorest home record in the league – picking up just a single point from a maximum of twelve. Their opposition in this one, Granada, will arrive at El Sadar on the back of three straight draws in the Spanish topflight. Back Granada on the double chance with BTTS (No) at 37/10.

11/20 Real Sociedad | Draw 28/10 | Mallorca 6/1 (14:00)

The home side have incredible form going into this one. On home soil, Txuri-Urdin are unbeaten across their previous fourteen games in La Liga, winning nine and drawing five. This season, they currently lead the scoring charts for goals scored at home – their fourteen at the Anoeta is the most from all topflight clubs. Back the home side to win at 11/20.

29/20 Getafe | Draw 2/1 | Real Betis 43/20 (16:15)

Getafe come into this round of fixtures on the back of just one win across their previous five league outings. I can’t see them building on that as they face a resurgent Isco who has provided 2 attacking returns (1 goal and 1 assist) across his previous 3 appearances for Betis, across all competitions. Back the away team to take all three points at 43/20.

29/10 Sevilla | Draw 11/4 | Real Madrid 9/10 (18:30)

Jose Mendilbar was the first casualty of the La Liga season, having been relieved of his duties at Sevilla. Diego Alonso has been appointed until the end of the season by the Rojiblancos and is tasked with facing current log leaders Real Madrid at the first time of asking. Back the away team on the double chance at 2/9.

24/10 Celta Vigo | Draw 49/20 | Atletico Madrid 11/10 (21:00)

Under pressure Celta Vigo boss, Rafa Bentez, needs a win. His team are currently in the relegation zone and are winless in their previous five. The international break could have come at the perfect time for him – only time will tell if his tutelage will be a hit or miss in this one. Back a draw in this one and BTTS (Yes) at 37/10.

17/10 Las Palmas | Draw 22/10 | Rayo Vallecano 17/10 (14:00)

Las Palmas have taken 8 points from a maximum of 12 on home soil this season. That string of strong results has seen them move into the top half of the log and I think their ascent continues this weekend. Afterall, Rayo Vallecano have drawn their previous 4 topflight whilst Las Palmas managed to string together 3 wins during that period. Back the home side on the double chance at 4/10.

5/10 Girona | Draw 36/10 | Almeria 48/10 (16:15)

Aleix Garcia’s second half goal against Cadiz was enough to hand Girona their seventh win from their opening nine league fixtures. The international break may have come at the perfect time for Michel & Co. His side had netted 3 across their previous 3 and with the resumption of domestic football offering them back-to-back home league games, I expect their attack to come out all gun’s blazing. Back the home side at 5/10.

13/20 Villareal | Draw 29/10 | Alavez 42/10 (18:30)

Villareal’s defeat to Las Palmas was their fifth of the season. The Yellow Submarine are also shipping goals left, right and centre – having let in 15 already. It should be a quiet day at the office for Filip Jörgensen, considering Alavez have netted just twice across their previous five league outings. Back under 3.5 goals in this one at 1/3.

11/20 Barcelona | Draw 34/10 | Athletic Club 46/10 (21:00)

Despite coming into this round of fixtures trailing log leaders, Real Madrid, by 3 points – Barcelona are the only club yet to see defeat in the Spanish topflight. Their quest to defend their La Liga crown has gotten off to a near perfect start, however 2 draws across their previous 3 league outings has slowed the Blaugrana machine down. Back Xavi’s men to take all 3 points, with both teams to score at 43/20.

8/10 Valencia | Draw 51/20 | Cadiz 38/10 (21:00)

Valencia got their La Liga campaign off to a formidable start. Back-to-back league wins against Sevilla and Las Palmas, had even the most ardent of critics wary of Los Ches this season. Since then, Ruben Baraja’s men have gone on to win just one of their ensuing seven topflight games – an impressive 3 nil hammering of powerhouses, Atletico Madrid. Back the home side on the double chance at 2/11.
