Just one point is all it will take Real Madrid to lift their 35th Spanish league title at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday the 30th of April. Barcelona’s rebuild looks strong to challenge for the new season all the while Atletico Madrid seem to have exhausted their hard-earned fame.
Friday to Monday, La Liga will give us a full round of fixtures that will add more twists and turns in the relegation battle as well as the search for European football. A 6/1 treble is on offer, check it out.
Friday 29 April
5/10 Sevilla | Draw 29/10 | Cadiz 54/10 (21:00)
A big win for Sevilla as they overcame Levante 3-2 on the road in the midweek round of fixtures. It’s been a weekend off, but the preparation and determination to clinch that top-four finish does not diminish for head coach Julen Lopetegui. Tecatito Corona headed home a 14th-minute opener, and shortly making fools of the Levante defenders picking up his brace.
Jules Kounde would seal the game midway through the second half, despite Sevilla conceding in the 87th-minute to secure all three points. Cadiz are on the brink and the fight will be rife in the squad, we saw them fight and fall short in a 2-3 loss, but that second-half performance was deserving of a draw. The Sevilla win is where to place this bet.
Saturday 30 April
5/2 Alaves | Draw 24/10 | Villarreal 21/20 (14:00)
Just like their relegation counterparts, Levante, Alaves have had a poor showing in La Liga. Tied on 25 points, six off survival, there is no room for slip ups. Their 2-1 loss to Mallorca in a six-pointer was enough to consider them gone in my opinion.
Villarreal have been in excellent form and will travel to Liverpool for their champions league semi-final, and with the type of squad rotation Unai Emery used when facing Bayern Munich, you know there will be nothing short of the same. The draw is my play in this encounter, with the Yellow Submarine able to pick up a draw against Athletic Bilbao after changing all 11 players in a similar situation.
4/10 Real Madrid | Draw 39/10 | Espanyol 6/1 (16:15)
Just one point… All that Real Madrid need to secure their 35th Spanish League title.
Real Madrid suffered a midweek Champions League fixture to Sherriff before the first meeting in October where Espanyol were able to upset the odds. The Parakeets went up two goals on the hour mark courtesy of Aleix Vidal, Real Madrid’s talisman, Karim Benzema spurred on the team with a beautiful solo goal, but it was not enough losing 2-1.
Los Blancos are now in a similar kettle of fish, just this time, everything is on the line. A midweek semi-final against Manchester City on either side of their search for another La Liga title.
Espanyol are clear of relegation, on the back of successive defeats, and have nothing on the cards for them when they travel to the Santiago Bernabeu.

12/10 Valencia | Draw 49/20 | Levante 43/20 (18:30)
Levante really are running out of chances to save themselves from the drop, making an awful start last time out against Sevilla conceding in the first 15 minutes of the fixture. They did respond well and picked up a penalty shortly after converted by Jose Luis Morales. After an arduous fixture, and finding themselves 1-3 down, a late push was rewarded with a goal in the 87th-minute courtesy of 37-year-old Roberto Soldado.
Valencia enters this tie in a frail mindset after losing in the Copa del Rey final with the season over for the Bats having nothing left to play for. It’s bold, but the relegation battle does bring out the best in a side, back Levante on the draw no bet at 12/10.
2/1 Athletic Bilbao | Draw 2/1 | Atletico Madrid 15/10 (21:00)
Diego Simeone has the 2021/22 Copa del Rey champions Real Betis coupled with experienced manager Manuel Pellegrini breathing down his neck for a UEFA Champions League spot. After falling short to Man City, a squad rotation loss to Mallorca, and getting knocked out via a 0-0 draw in the second leg against City Atletico Madrid have had a tough run of results. The race to that top four finish is more important now, than ever.
The more recent draw against Granada will not bode well for Atletico, now just four points clear on that fourth spot. The draw no bet in favour of the home team at even money is the play – Athletic Bilbao have lost just one fixture in their last five.
Sunday 1 May
2/1 Elche | Draw 21/10 | Osasuna 15/10 (14:00)
Elche took home the spoils on matchday 33 when they travelled South to take on Real Betis. Betis were facing their final league fixture before the big cup final on the weekend and made seven changes to their regular starting lineup, including early substitutions of Nabil Fekir and Juanmi.
Elche were able to capitalize on a weakened opposition winning the game 1-0 away. Osasuna on the other hand suffered a 3-1 defeat on home soil to the hands of soon to be champions Real Madrid. Osasuna attacker, Ante Budimir, equalized in just under a minute after going down, but that was all they had in the tank. The draw for the first match on Sunday is the runner for this encounter.
16/10 Granada | Draw 22/10 | Celta Vigo 7/4 (16:15)
Two sides with one win in their last five makes for an “anything can really happen” kind of fixture. Granada are 18th, one point short of escaping relegation, so winning every game here on out is a must.
With a draw against Atletico Madrid last time out, there’s hope for them after all. Celta Vigo are clear of any relegation battles, but a push for the top half of the table is on the cards, however their recent 2-0 home loss at the hands of Getafe is a bitter pill to swallow. I would get behind the home team to take a victory here.
43/20 Rayo Vallecano | Draw 21/10 | Real Sociedad 14/10 (18:30)
Rayo Vallecano known for putting together a possession-based performance, came up against the side who perfects that, Barcelona, last time out and defeated them virtually without the ball. An early seventh-minute goal from Alvaro Garcia Rivera was the only goal of the game to secure all three for the travelling team.
They backed up their previous 1-0 win over other Catalan side Espanyol and are in search of a third successive victory for a second time this season. Real Sociedad picked up the win in the first-leg of this fixture, but I am backing the draw this time around after failing to defeat an unimpressive Barcelona last time out.
7/20 Barcelona | Draw 4/1 | Mallorca 13/2 (21:00)
Three games in six days saw Barcelona saw them stumble against Cadiz by one goal to nil, pick up an unconvincing one nil victory away from home against Real Sociedad, and finally taste another one goal defeat to Rayo Vallecano in a catch-up fixture this past Sunday night.
Barcelona welcome Mallorca to the Camp Nou, after defeating them by just one goal in the reverse fixture. Mallorca have everything to fight for sitting 16th, two points clear of relegation. I’m being brave here and a 1-1 draw is the verdict in the Total Goals (2) Market at 32/10, but if you need one for the multiple, under 2.5 goals at 27/20.
Monday 2 May
33/20 Getafe | Draw 2/1 | Real Betis 18/10 (21:00)
Copa del Rey champions, Real Betis, continue their celebrations on the road when they face Getafe in an all-important bid for a UEFA Champions League spot on Monday night. Betis fielded a completely different squad in their 1-0 defeat to Elche before lifting the trophy on the weekend.
They are four points short of a European place and Getafe are five short of 18th, building up this fixture to be a smashing Monday night. Getafe hold back-to-back losses to Real Madrid and Villarreal but overturned that last time out thanks to a Borja Mayoral brace when they faced Celta Vigo winning 2-0. The momentum of Betis coupled with better quality in personnel will come through.
